Well....Maybe Not

I began my drive back to VA and home this morning. And no more than 15 miles from the start, as I accelerated away from a toll booth, my car began to make a terrible noise. Flying along in the midst of all this noise, I made several phone calls to obtain diagnostic assistance. The long-distance conclusion was that my exhaust system had a leak of some kind. A very, very noisy one. In the engine end of things, so possibly my air intakes would now contain a fair amount of CO for a 9-10 hour drive. If I had been further into the journey, I probably would have continued. But seeing that I was so close the beginning (now 30 miles, at a rest area), I decided to turn around and get a mechanic's opinion on Monday morning. My sister drove out and drove behind me all the way back as I didn't want to be alone with a dead car in a tunnel under Boston harbor, should such come to pass. Which, of course, didn't happen. But having had alternators die on me, I was unwilling to take the chance alone if I didn't have to.

So I am not back home. I had dinner again with my parents, which was quite nice and lively. Miss E and The Dude miss me and I miss them. Much cat news was shared by phone. And I am a bit further in my draft.

Hope it's nothing major on the car, Oz, and that you arrive home safely soon.

Pretty major, it seems, but nothing I can't handle. Except the delay of two-three days. Nothing dire, but want to get the drive behind me. Hope you're writing!

Frustrating all around, except for the part where I write, whether I'm here or home.

The opinions on the CO vary. Some say safe, some not. I think, though, since it happened so close to a 'home' place, that I was meant to get the darned thing fixed. And get my draft edited. hee, hee. moving along now. And, oh my, I think I've learned a few things since I last worked on this. I now have some built-in tension meter that keeps going "Boring! Don't be so boring!" yippee!

Shall let you see the piece that's for the first submission when it's done. It won't be 10k, I'm quite sure. It will be what it is when I pull the plug because it's due! Though Walter didn't actually set a due date, per se. Oh, and we're doing Nova again. Which I didn't do last time, so this time I shall.
