Ding, dong, the draft is done! Say hello to "And From His Lips" born at approximately 3pm eastern standard time on January 8, 2009 at a whopping weight of 7300 words.
Just make sure there's a kitty or three behind you if you do faint, okay? And, whaddya mean, no eunuchs? -mourns- Though the questionable warm bits sound nice too.
the story with at least one eunuch in it is still bubbling around in my imaginative vat. Has Bollywood influences and I'm still getting a feel for cultural differences. The idea only popped into my head in November. I don't even know what world it's set in yet.
we'll see how the questionable warm bits stand up to alpha readers.
It's a COMPLETED draft! (you have no idea how rare those are on my computer.) Thank you! Not the same as your very pretty book, but still a personal victory.
thank you so much! At last! A draft that began in November is now a real story with beginning, middle and end! (a bit fat still, but hey, who's counting words?)
thank you! Good thing it's already christened! Otherwise, I might have to make it a christening gown! It's either the duck or the water story next, depending on whether I'm ready to tackle some of the science aspects of the water story.
I hadn't written the duck story draft yet at Philcon. I finished the water story there, didn't I? The duck draft came right after that, mostly during Thanksgiving weekend and that last week of Nov. It's the shortest of the 3 November drafts, doesn't want to be any longer.
Thank goodness it was NOT a 9 month gestation period for a mere 7300 words! And *ahem* "sticks" would be more appropriate to hand out, according to the text. My fairies don't smoke.
At least a bublegum one. I'm looking forward to all you put King Hoarfrost through. Well done....let the edits begin (but go celebrate the birthing awhile first for heaven's sake!) gf
you mean, let the reading begin: the comments, suggestions, confusion, enlightenment. The first edit is done. The editrix half of the writer has brought to the first draft everything she could at this point in time, tried to use what I had in my toolbox.
