Lunch Wagon Lady

Today I am in charge. What's that? No, the horses are NOT in charge. I am in charge.

I am the lunch wagon lady. I am the scooper of a very large litter box and several small ones as well.

(I left Virginia for this? I have cat boxes at home.)

But no big white horses.

It's cloudy today. I've never been in the desert when it was cloudy from the moment I got up.

So where, exactly, are you?

Vail, AZ, outside of Tucson. Dancing Horse Farm, owned by Judith Tarr, the writer. She's dancinghorse.

Helping out a friend, not horse camp. Horses, yes, pampering no. I'm doing the pampering, as much as possible.

Oh, dude, now that I can imagine. Lots of horsies following you around, nibbling out of the wagon before you get to the bins. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

Especially Tia.

Both Khep and Carma keep asking me where you are and when you're coming back. Judy says Khep is totally ready to be ridden and she can teach you herself.

Aggggh. Tell them to find me a job (preferably at a Hilton hotel if it's before August) and then I'll be right over.

We have Doubletree. Also Hilton Tucson East.

Yeah. There's a website to check for job openings (Doubletree is part of Hilton, so it has both.) I've been keeping an eye on it, but there's nothing right now. Before August, I need the hotel, because I need the discount for the WorldCon hotel. After that, I could look for a job anywhere, really, but the hotel discounts sure come in handy for cons.

You put a cell number on a recent post, I believe. Judy took mine so her Mom could call if anything came up.

It was no problemo and "Mom" is due back by 6 or 7.

Pooka totally dissed me at lunch. He stood off in another stall and turned away from me because I wasn't Judy. Then he saw me pick up the hay and changed his tune real fast. Later, when I said good-bye after feeding everyone, he apologized. Seriously. Put his nose over the fence, which he rarely does for me.

I've been in and out of the herd so much the past few days that I'm now accepted and besides, everyone was happily eating. And they all know that I belong to Pandora first of all. But I've been brushing everyone.

They are the BEST horses.
