Cool, Oz! Thanks for the link. Greg always gives a great interview.

I liked the "John Cleese method of outlining" reference. Lots of great writerly stuff in this one.

Now I have to go read Gregory Frost. Surprised I never did before . . ..

If he takes so long between novels, I wonder how he makes a living at it? I totally believe he should take the time to get it right - but how does he eat?

Well, yes, I do recommend Greg's work. Short or long fiction. And my name is in both Shadowbridge and Lord Tophet, so I'm not partial, no, no, no. Right there in the front, too.

He's always had short fiction out between the novels. Lots of it in the Windling/Datlow series for retelling fairy tales.

I think Greg was a starving writer early on, but he's worked a day job full-time most of the time I've known him, up through finishing Shadowbridge. But he did write most of Lord Tophet after he went self-employed. A 30-year career in writing didn't mean it was his only career. And even now, he teaches writing part-time. And he's married.
