Continuing Series of WTF? Moments

I was able to crunch out another 5k of unadulterated drivel on the drive south today before my battery gave out. My word count is still behind, at 43k and change, but OMG, this thing is doable. With 2 days to go, more than 50 hours left, I have 6.6k still to write. What I also have is 2 stories in draft still, which can easily absorb that word count. What I have learned is that I could do this NaNo thing, I really could. Last year, I couldn't. This year I could. It would be a shame to be so close and not complete the task.

Frog Out

PS Grey days are best for typing in a car. Sunny days with sun in your face, not so much.

Go you! (I just hope someone else is driving the car.)

Mary drove both ways. I generated word count. I have my priorities straight.

Did you see the "laptop steering wheel desk"? Truly hope you're not using it! But congrats on the word count! Victory is in sight!

The reviews are hilarious! But no, I was not the one driving.

Go girl!

I can't write in the car. Looking at the screen makes me nauseous - not to mention the problems associated with trying to type and steer at the same time ;)

It's tricky, I agree. The gray day was optimal. I get headaches keeping my head down too long, too much glare, or esp. with light flashing through trees.

I swear I was not trying to type and steer. Different person driving.

You can do it!

Score, indeed! It was erootic drivel, too! I sent 1500 words to one of my test readers to see if it really was and I got word back that yes, it was steamy stuff! Amazing how quickly some of that will just fly through my fingers.

In the interest of finishing today, I'm encouraging myself to write more erootic drivel. An erootic sprint to the finish line.

I find I get some of my best writing done in the car (when Beloved Hubby is driving, of course).

You should invest in an inverter for your car. That way you're not limited to the life of the battery.

But you're almost there. Go, Oz, Go!

I thought about an inverter. Normally I can't do the writing in the car because my husband starts asking what I'm writing and then bursts out laughing. But my sister as driver was more restrained and let me stay in the fantasy world I was trying to see.

Yeah, I can see that. My hubby often gets bored and wants to talk. And if I don't talk to him, he'll put on talk radio. Thanks, dear!

The plan that worked out best for us was the time we went on a road trip with another couple. We put the guys in the front seat together to talk, while we ladies (who were both working on writing projects) retreated to the next row back with our laptops and extension cords. It worked very well.

One piece of advice: If you do get an inverter, never try to run a crock pot off of it! (Yep, tried that. Melted the inverter.)
