Still Online...as of now

I'm still online, which means the satellite dish is still sufficiently free of ice and snow that I can get a signal. And the skies aren't so filled with water vapor that we can't get a line into space. The same is true for the tvs at the moment. Power is still on, which is also necessary for internet and tv. Heat is on, well is on, septic is on, and (thank goodness) the coffee maker is on. The Dude and I brewed a lot of coffee last night, just in case. One k-cup at a time, into more than one thermos.

The winds are coming, though. I've been through this before, in Nebraska. It's nothing new. But it's a bit of an adrenaline rush, nonetheless. Here's hoping all my various friends in the path of this storm are safe and warm and hunkered down.

Frog Out

We managed to make it through the night and retain power, though with these gusts of 50 mph, who knows how long that can continue?

Stay warm!

Right. We have to maintain the attitude that we've already had our power outage for the week and whatever tree was destined to come down has already done so. So far, the outage map for the electric company is looking good. The Dude has just taken the blower out for a walk along the driveway to assess how bad it is. Glad you two are fine and warm and eating hot food. I'm making oatmeal now.

We're all battened down here. Louise took the day off work (her company never closes).

Very sensible of Louise and her company is nuts. You're right in the area that will be hard-hit when it develops off the coast, I think.

Still here! I was sleepy again so I've been napping a lot and staying warm under a down quilt.

Good luck! Here we've had steady, wet snow since 7pm last night, but so far no power outages. Companies appear to have given up and told everyone to take the day off work. As far as I can tell, the only thing anyone is doing today is shoveling.

I should hope the companies closed! It's dangerous out there. You'll get more than we will, I think. The back edge is just to the south but has stopped moving for now. The news says the sun is out behind it. I wish!

I don't mind the hunkering down, it's the shovelling that comes later which I dislike :(

It's not exactly fun, but it's doable. Get your small-fry crew out there helping! Stay warm!

Hang in there, you!

Hanging by sleeping, apparently. Still cold. We're all a-twitter here to see the Winter Olympics from your town. Hope you're hanging in with all inconvenience of the disruptions.

No disruptions yet, but I'll keep you posted!!

Good writing time. Take care.

I wish! If it's not family stuff, it's tax time. Lots of work to be done and I keep slowly attacking it because it will keep me ahead of the usual deadline rush.
