More Desert

Can't get enough of this...wildflowers and cactus in bloom at the same time. Very rare. You, too, could go to horse camp.

Ocotillo with wildflowers

Saguaro...with nest. It takes 75 years to grow an arm. Bats, woodpeckers, owls, live in them. Also very phallic, but I'm choosing to ignore that in favor of the simplicity of the line and venerable age.

It's always interesting to stay with Judy. I can see why Spaniards felt at home. It must be a similar climate.

Yes, the climate is similar. There's yucca growing happily in gardens in my neighborhood, and prickly pear cactus grows wild throughout southern Spain. They've begun to harvest and eat the fruit, but Spaniards still haven't caught on to eating the leaves.

You'll get there some day. I know it. And with Alyx.

Mmmm, it's always cool to see the cacti in bloom. And I do love the saguaros.

Haven't been to AZ in a couple of years, despite having in-laws down there. I suppose we should make a road trip one of these days.

It was a beautiful spring this year. More photos will be posted in upcoming days.
