Car Update

Pipe into the Catalytic Converter is kaput, as in broken. Mechanic (presumably to be trusted) says it can't be welded, which is what my mechanic suggested without seeing it. Parts will take at least a day and it's not a quick and easy job.

So. I have a peaceful place to write, a place to do laundry, no hotel bill, and I'll get to spend more time with my parents.

Other than much missing of Miss E and Weatherdude, I'm fine staying where I am. I want the car work completed as quickly as possible. I want to get on the road. I shall contain my want and try to make the time useful with additional progress on the edit. Time ticks away for that deadline, whether it takes one or two days to fix my car.

Meanwhile, I have changed my screensaver and my desktop to cycle through my 50 photos from Saguaro National Park. Which is a big deal for me, but it's making me happy.

Frog Out

There is a teeny, tiny woodpecker on the right side of this saguaro.

Sorry to hear about your car.

Thanks! The car is a 1999 with 200k miles on it. I would just appreciate it more if the car chose to break down at home. The car, of course, responds that I'm being unreasonable. It could have broken down miles from anywhere but chose to break down in easy reach of good, reliable mechanics and a free place to crash. And actually, several people are of the opinion that it's not actually broken if it's drivable and that I'm being a wuss for caring whether my car makes hideous noises for 10 hours. This car is actually quite tough and I've taken good care of it, according to my mechanic.
