Updates Writing Workshop, Etc.

The writing workshop for Raleigh and ReConStruction is full, closed, distributed. Thank you everyone who reposted and spread the word. Although the workshop was announced on the con website for about 2 months, most of the submissions came from the viral word of mouth on the blogs. It's smaller than the Worlcon workshops, but based on demand, it's the right size at four sections. I'm deeply grateful to the people donating their time as pros. And some of the stories rock. All of them are decent and show a good level of writing.

I'm now making sure that every section knows where and when to meet. It's all over that the printed program released has glitches in it. Yes. It does. But there is logic in there and a pattern and that's what I'm using.

So. I'll be on the road to Raleigh on Wed morning.

Just as soon as I kick whatever it is that I've currently got that has me coughing and with a low fever. It's been making the rounds all up and down the east coast, I hear. But I blame the Dude for giving it to me. He thought it was just his sinuses.

Re: Excellent!
Not surprised you're up and reading! I'm catching up on blogs and wow, what a lot of posts from you for the Bay Area Equine Rescue. You must have spent a lot of time preparing to post them this weekend.

Thank you!
I did... and scrambled around like a madwoman this week trying to get recent pix because the rest of the rescue was busy with the Gigantic Yard Sale... which also always seems to fall on the Blogathon. Thank you for appreciating them. I <3 my horsies!

Thanks! I think I will. This seems to be getting better. The low-grade fever is gone for good, I hope. Sort of like a cold now. I have two more days for recuperation.

Coughing? Fever? Hmm...

I can't believe you come into my home and steal my illness. I was saving that for Valerie and you obviously took part of her share. She's already feeling healthy, when she should have had another day of bleaaah.

There will be a reckoning! Probably in Raleigh.

I think I already had it. I had a sore throat by Thurs, one day later, basically. That's a pretty violent viral thing if I caught it from you. And the Dude ran a fever on Friday, so I'm thinking I caught it from him. Lot closer proximity. But, you may have combined your germs with his and the double-whammy just knocked me flat. For a time. I shall have my revenge in Raleigh.

Thanks for organizing the workshops!! I hope you feel better very soon. If not, I will be sure that Lou brings a kettle as well to make you fresh tea!

We is doing much, much better. Hardly a cough or sniffle. Now if Gen Ship would just magically finish writing itself, all would be perfection. Lou is micromanaging my rewrite and still arguing over whether the temperature would drop. Which, of course, it would. The PhD I'm married to knows his thermodynamics. But Lou tweaked my wording for the opening paragraph and, sigh, it's better. But no more tweaking. Must finish.

Glad to hear you're doing better! Opening paragraphs are always tricky for me. It's a good thing our Toolboxers are around to help us out! I'll send lots of good writerly thoughts in your direction today. Hope Gen Shop cooperates!
