Hey LJ World!

Ok, so livejournal was attacked, quite viciously, beginning on Sunday night. And here it is Thursday and we finally seem to have our LJ back. I don't hold them responsible for being attacked. Good Grief. It wasn't their fault. They did the best they could under the circumstances and they've tried to do some things to prevent it happening again.

Of course, what amuses me is that the write up of this and the advice on how to get back into lj was posted on lj. (There was also another site that had a brief message: http://status.livejournal.org/ It's a handy web address to have. It's not an lj site, per se.) And what amuses me even more is the number of people who are blogging on lj when they can get in that we can read them on their original website at such-and-such address. The only problem is, I read everything via lj. So I can't see your message and I can't imagine why I would go to your website individually. I like my feed. I suppose I could set it up on google, but lj shows it to me just the way I like it.

So here we are back again. In my humble and unwanted opinion, it's not a reason to panic or to leave lj. I'm here. This is where Walkabout Farm is.

Obviously most of my friends page history consists of feeds, not lj entries. So tell me what you've been up to.

Here at Walkabout Farm, we have a shiny new car, first one in 22 years.

I used the time to read, specifically "El capitán Alatriste" by Arturo Pérez Reverte. Its (famous) opening line: "No era el hombre más honesto ni el más piadoso, pero era un hombre valiente." "He wasn't the most honest man nor the most pious, but he was a brave man." It's about a hired sword in Madrid in the early 1600s.
