Walkabout Farm Goes Walkabout

Leaving Maralton in charge of the cat and chicken farm, Weatherdude, Miss E, and I are all going to DHF in Arizona for HORSE CAMP!

It's a very brief one because of school for Miss E and Weatherdude's weather and my Oct 17 tax deadlines. But it's the first time they've been there, so I'm very excited. And it's been a year for me, so I'm excited about that part too.

I was able to cash in a lot of Southwest old free tickets to get us all on a flight that was meant to be.

I will pack my camera. I plan to do yoga with the herd, and Stacey, the Wonder Equine Massager, is coming to give lessons on Monday.

So far, so good with my knee. ::knock, knock, knock:::

Frog Out

I plan to! Looooong flight. I prefer to stay closer to a week, but with school and all...plus it's our 30th wedding anniversary period (we were married twice, once on each coast) and what better way to celebrate it? And if they don't love DHF, at least they will know what I'm doing when I go there. Except for the writing part. I don't expect to get any of that done.

30 Years?!?!
Congratulations on your 30th anniversary!! T still teases me about how I'm the only accountant he knows who is ridiculously bad with numbers (I got by because at least I could tell left from right which I argued was more important), but nevertheless you can't possibly be old enough to be married 30 years, can you? Were you some sort of child bride and I forgot about that story? Whatever the case, hope your whole family has fun at Horse Camp!

Re: 30 Years?!?!
Why yes, I *was* a child bride! :::snort::: You don't really want me to remind you it's almost 20 years since you came to work at AA&Co? In Atlanta when I was a new hire and they heard it was my 6th anniversary, someone exclaimed "Y'all must have been a child bride!" Because almost all the new hires were 21 or 22. Gee, like you were several years later.

General agreement between Stacey and Judy is that I had the best ride EVAH on Pandora. I thought so too. It was strictly walking, but much more able to feel her and when Stacey called "stop clenching your knee!" I could. And a couple of times she said I changed what I was doing just as she was about to tell me to. She said "I'll just stand over here and you read my mind, ok?" But it was more that I was aware of what I was doing right and wrong this time out. All stiff, all achy, but that turned out not to be an issue. Did NOT blow out my knee. Phew. But had one heck of a time bending enough to get the left foot into the stirrup to mount. Sigh.

Her attitude was night and day before and after the ride, too. By Monday evening, she was all soft and wanted to be close. Before that, she was tolerating my need to be close to her. I think she was telling me the lesson was worthy of the queen.

I'm always so jealous when you get to go to horse camp. Hope Miss E and the Weatherdude have a great time!

Had a great time! You should try it sometime! This wasn't a writing horse camp, but was still lots o' fun. They got to see how I live when I go to camp, what I do. They both want to come back, which is the usual reaction to horse camp. (Just not when I'm there for writing, ok?)
