It's a Weird World

My laptop has been having difficulty taking a charge. Which means it won't run on the cord. I've tried a new adapter and a new battery. Neither has solved the problem, which is getting worse. Apparently something is wrong inside the guts in the distance between where the cord goes in and the battery at the other end. And apparently, a few years of cats sleeping on the cord and pushing it downwards has not helped matters.

Today it would not do much at all. If I pushed the plug in hard and held it up, it would charge. But the minute I let go, it would stop. Like I want to hold my hand in the same position for an hour. And the position required is what made me think that cats sleeping on it and pushing the other way has created the problem.

So right now the only way I can get it to charge is upside down. No lie. My laptop is on my smaller desk upside down, taking a charge. Mostly so I can than migrate files over to my desktop.

I think I need to break down and get a new laptop. It's difficult to work with a machine that's turned off and upside down. And who knows how long this charging system will work?
