Well Met By Moonlight

There was more haze in the sky than I would have liked. For my first evening back, I would have preferred to see the Milky Way splashed across the heavens, the thundering hordes of stars and possibilities. But the moon pressed on, first a halo and then free of the clouds. And a moon almost full blots out the stars anyway.

B met the herd as I did the first time, by moonlight. She was introduced around and some were sleepy, but all were curious and friendly. We were up way past our east coast bedtimes, me more than her. 11pm here was 2am to my body and not enough time to adjust while I'm here.

The weather is being flaky, but we have the offset of lots and lots and lots of wildflowers to see. If I thought last spring was pretty, this one, they tell me, is simply amazing.

Wish y'all were here, I really do. DHF is an amazing place.
