I'm under my own weather still, mild and foggy here this morning, drizzling. J has been kind enough to say that I look "remarkably good" which I think means I look like death. I roused myself enough yesterday to go buy some sorbet-type foods and rent The Devil Wears Prada. I liked the film, but thought it ended wrong. Here she was, growing up and learning to do a job that asks a lot of her, succeeding even, and she throws it away. They portray her as growing and changing, becoming interested in the fashion business, and then phhhht! While I liked her friends and boyfriend fine, it felt like a flat ending. It felt as if she chose not to succeed, and as a woman that disturbed me. I didn't feel so much that she chose integrity as that she chose to go backwards. Guess I'll have to take a look at the book someday to see what that's all about.
End of feminist rant.
I'm following with interest the news in Florida regarding their electronic voting machines. There is no way to verify an electronic vote. Virginia mostly uses optical scanners of paper ballots, but there was one electronic machine in my polling station this time. Lots of people used it.
