Geez, Is It Wednesday Already?

Miss E is now in her last week of school. No more work, other than the obligatory nightly reading, which is not a chore. Reading to her and letting her read has become one of the household rituals. Today she takes a blanket, wears PJ's and takes books to school. Tomorrow it's board games and on Friday it's movies. Monday is her class party and Tuesday is the Last Day, when nothing will get accomplished. But first grade is accomplished and in a very big way. She'll have testing for her issues the 1st of August. I have no idea what to expect this year...her psychologist was pleased last year and I was disappointed, well to be honest, I was devastated by the results. I will not allow myself to hope too much this year. She is who she is and I have to look at all the growth and marvel at it.

I'll stop obsessing on that now. Aug 1 is a long way away and the report will come weeks after that.

There is a first draft of the Mouse King. Ta-da! It sucks. It has a huge hole still in the middle. I printed it out using my new-fangled double-sided laser printer to save paper. It has red marks all over the opening pages and the ending pages. Even in my initial edit I skipped over the middle. I could basically start typing it all over again and it might take less time than trying to line edit. It is not the story I set out to write a year ago. I shall have to rewrite that one for myself alone.

I also did a bit more picking up, cooking, not snacking, and the ever-present tax work yesterday. Just have to keep plugging away at it all.
