Almost Home, West Virginia

Well, we can *see* WV from our property...almost out of Boston. I have a CD of photos taken, so here we go....

E, The Dread Pirate

E at the New England Aquarium (trust me, she's there somewhere)

Intrepid explorer

Honey, I'm home!

Quiet. Gymnast At Work.

The pirate photo's my favorite. I can see she had a wonderful time!

Looks like a great time. I hope you're all relaxed too.

Eloise is. I'm not. These trips don't work out that way, though usually I get more writing time. This time, there's a lot more going on, family-wise.

It didn't occur to me that a San Diego Zoo fan would also like an aquarium, but it makes sense! The penguins are by far the best. I've seen Seaworld penquins and I like the NE Aquarium better. So does E. She spends all her time with penguins and at the gift shop. Then she does a quick circuit of the big tank, but not always to the top. To truly savor the visit, don't go with E! This time, we were also looking for seahorses, but if they were in the tank with the text, they were disguised. But that tank had sea dragons, which were very, very cool.

There's a really nice aquarium out here called Birch Aquarium. They had sea dragons the last time I went, and a tide pool, and an octupus and some sharks and other fish. No penguins, though. Went to one in San Francisco, but it stuck to local fish, with one long tunnel aquarium, a few small exhibits (like jellyfish) and a tide pool.
