Bollywood of the Day

Amazing what's on YouTube. The latest is Aishwarya Rai, now 35, who was in "Bride and Prejudice" and a host of other films (upcoming in Pink Panther 2). This particular video apparently took India by storm when it was released. It's a one-off, a special appearance in the movie by Aishwarya. Dance style is very traditional. The two men are E's fav Amitabh Bachchan and his real-life son, both with parts in the main plot of the film. For the basic plot of the song, Aishwarya is interested in Amitabh who is not convinced he's interested in her. His son (playing the main character in the movie) is interested in Aishwarya and she's not interested in him. The final line from Amitabh that is unfortunately cut off in all the videos I found is "Madam, I am your only Adam." They manage to be pretty suggestive in spite of the moral guidelines in Bollywood. The film is "Bunty aur Babli" a film about two con artists and the policeman chasing them and has no particular relation to this video.

Frog Out
PS. The Dude has stopped trying to tell me that Amitabh isn't a dancer. After seeing several of his more recent films, he's become a believer. I'm curious to see how he danced as a younger man. The netflix queue contains a 2 disc set on his career which will no doubt answer that question as well as show bits of his serious roles.
