Bollywood...Sort Of

Greg Frost sent this around, not just to me, but to his entire list of email victims. However, he knows of my current obsession with anything Bollywood, so blame him for the following video starring Winston Spears, a Toronto comic with a pretty amazing talent for the visual.

His lip-synch is superb and his imitation of the stylized expressions is, well, see for yourself.

Frog Out

Funny! A bit long, but, yes, quite comical.

Question: what is it you like a Bollywood, Oz? The campiness? The costumes? Just wondering if you're laughing with it or at it? ;)

I don't laugh at Bollywood at all. I'm quite serious in my obsession. I admire their adaptation of other music, I think a lot of tunes are catchy, the excellent cinematography doesn't come across well in youtube videos, they have an incredible eye for color, and the choreography is quite well done, whether it's traditional or western-based. I'm a fan of old Hollywood musicals with the best dancing but we don't make them like that anymore. Bollywood still does. It started as downloads from iTunes based on E's obsession with the color, dancing and music in Monsoon Wedding. An Indian friend suggested that other movies might be more age-appropriate. We've been enjoying exploring a different culture.
